Who is Cindy Studebaker?

Let me introduce myself.

Before embarking on your journey, I'm going to give you some insight into my personal background and how my journey began.

I was a legal secretary and like most Americans, I worked the 9 to 5 grind for over 30 years, with the assumption that I would continue to do so until retirement. I felt trapped, stuck, and burnt out. My day-to-day office tasks no longer seemed to matter or provide any satisfaction. In fact, I felt quite bad about some of the outcomes of cases we handled, so when the opportunity presented itself to begin short-term rental (STR) arbitrage, I decided to take it.

Though terrified about taking on a fairly significant additional monthly payment, my motto of “feel the fear and jump anyway” kicked in, and I jumped! Despite it being mid-May in the Phoenix area with the hot summer days upon us, I was able to get bookings and make enough money to pay the rent the very first month.

I quickly accepted another unit when it was offered to me two months later. Still afraid, but a bit less so after seeing the potential income that could be made, I eagerly began my journey to building my STR arbitrage business.

Being new and anxious and wanting to be attentive to guest messages, I found myself constantly checking my phone for notifications, much to the dismay of my then employer. As a result, I was requested to keep my phone put away during the workday, so I could focus on my J-O-B, which, if you don’t already know, stands for Just Over Broke! Knowing that would not be a viable option to building my STR arbitrage business, I chose to take the leap of faith, and give notice, and leave my J-O-B for this big adventure.

In a year and a half, I had doubled what I was making as a legal secretary in profit. I was able to gain 10 additional units from June to December, during COVID, and am on track to gross seven figures in the next year! I then decided that my success could help others succeed, and started teaching what I learned. My first student obtained four units of his own in a short six-month time period! I tell all of my students that having me by their side will assure that they don’t make the same mistakes I did along the way, which left money on the table, cost money out of pocket, and made my progress significantly slower than it otherwise could have been.

Allow me to lead you down the path already paved and avoid all those detours and bumps that I struggled with and you will be on the road to success in a very short period of time!

And of course, I couldn't do it without a team!

WISH Short Term Rental was incorporated in October 2019 by CEO Shawn Goh, and joined by CFO Noah Laker. Shawn first met Noah at an apartment leasing office in Natomas, CA, where Noah was a manager and Shawn was trying to identify his first rental arbitrage opportunity. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic,  WISH STR quickly grew from two to twenty units within the first year in business, and fifty by Q2 2021. WISH STR Enterprise, Inc continues to prove itself as the most dynamic company in the vacation rental industry.
